Who is Flora Medicine?
Andrea McBeth, ND
I am a Naturopathic Doctor who views medicine through the lens of the human microbiome. I studied molecular biology and biochemistry graduating from the University of San Diego with my bachelor’s degree in 2008. Throughout and after my undergraduate education I pursued research in various molecular and cell biology areas. After spending years working in cancer research and then as a patient advocate for a family member with cancer, I changed paths to become a naturopathic doctor. In 2017 I graduated from the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM). I am a licensed ND in Oregon and Washington where I focus on functional GI and autoimmune issues in conjunction with running the stool bank that provides Fecal Microbiota Transplant (FMT) capsules to treat recurrent Clostridium difficile (C.diff) infection.
My favorite tools are patient education, nutrition, lifestyle, and herbal medicine. I use all of these with an emphasis on meeting patients where they are at in their process.
Piper Dobner, ND, MS
I am passionate about hearing your story. Listening to the journey that led you to my door is one of the aspects of this profession that I most highly value. As your practitioner, I will work to be part of your healthcare team and advocate for what is best for your individual case. My goal is to empower you to take charge of your health and begin to love and respect the body that has brought you to this moment. I will be there by your side helping you achieve your best version of self, especially on your hardest days.
I graduated from National University of Natural Medicine with a doctoral degree in Naturopathic Medicine and a master’s degree in Integrative Medicine Research. During my time as a student, my passion for patient care blossomed as I watched lifestyle modification of mind, body and spirit, lead to profound changes in my patients. I use a combination of gentle therapies, nutrition, botanical medicine, physical medicine (in the form of cranial sacral therapy or manipulation) and counseling to support the microbiome and provide my patients with the best care possible.
My approach to your care is to understand the root cause of your symptom picture. Addressing those symptoms in as gentle a way as possible is my ultimate goal as your physician. Come share your story with me, and let’s get started in helping you become the healthy person you were always meant to be.
