Who is Flora Medicine?
Andrea McBeth, ND
I am the founder & CEO of Flora Medicine.
I enjoy my clinical care practice that focuses on functional gastrointestinal health, chronic illness, autoimmune disease, and elder care. My other passion resides in providing a sustainable business model to improve access to care and health outcomes for populations with complex care needs.
I studied Biochemistry and Biology at the University of San Diego. Following that I worked as a research assistant in molecular biology and biomedical engineering at OHSU. I shifted my focus to naturopathic medicine so I could directly help people in a more tangible way.
I graduated from NUNM with a doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine after 5 years of study. My ultimate goal is to help people reduce their suffering, feel empowered to heal, and advocate for patient needs.

I am passionate about hearing your story. Listening to the journey that led you to my door is one of the aspects of this profession that I most highly value. As your practitioner, I will work to be part of your healthcare team and advocate for what is best for your individual case. My goal is to empower you to take charge of your health and begin to love and respect the body that has brought you to this moment. I will be there by your side helping you achieve your best version of self, especially on your hardest days.
I graduated from National University of Natural Medicine with a doctoral degree in Naturopathic Medicine and a master’s degree in Integrative Medicine Research. During my time as a student, my passion for patient care blossomed as I watched lifestyle modification of mind, body and spirit, lead to profound changes in my patients. I use a combination of gentle therapies, nutrition, botanical medicine, physical medicine (in the form of cranial sacral therapy or manipulation) and counseling to support the microbiome and provide my patients with the best care possible.
My approach to your care is to understand the root cause of your symptom picture. Addressing those symptoms in as gentle a way as possible is my ultimate goal as your physician. Come share your story with me, and let’s get started in helping you become the healthy person you were always meant to be.

My clinical practice primarily involves women’s health with a focus on the effects that our hormones impart on our individual microbiome. The complexity of women and bodies is the driving force behind the work I do. My areas of expertise involve PCOS, endometriosis, prenatal and postpartum care, and sexual health. I am a certified pelvic health specialist providing both pelvic floor therapy and abdominal visceral work alongside cranialsacral therapy. I believe bodies often have a different story to tell than the mind and holding space for bodies to speak is the artwork of my clinical practice.
I graduated from the National University of Natural Medicine with a doctoral degree in Naturopathic Medicine. I also studied with the Elderberry School of Botanical Medicine and practice herbal medicine with the majority of my patient population. I continue to mentor with women’s health expert, Dr. Kathryn Kloos, and I have completed several trainings specific to pelvic health and cranialsacral techniques.
I weave together botanical medicine, hands on healing, and empathetic listening to support you holistically. I approach my practice from a trauma informed and social justice informed care model to provide shame and bias free health care.
You might see me around the office from time to time when you come in for a visit. I'm Flora Medicine's Operations Director. I work behind the scenes and help our doctors succeed in giving you the best care possible.
I graduated from Portland State University's BFA Art Practices program, where I focused on Video and Sound Installation as my medium. Through my work, I explore themes surrounding environments, nature, and human perception. I'm also interested in the close relationship between our bodies and our minds. Working within these concepts, I feel at home at Flora Medicine, where we focus on the balance of the body and mind through the lens of the microbiome.
Althea is Flora Medicine's therapy puppy. She loves running around in open spaces and getting lots of love from those she's around. Here she is looking at Olympic National Park.
